First SCC Meeting Set for August 26th The Sport Club Council gets started quickly this fall with its first meeting of the year set for Tuesday, August 26th (the 2nd day of classes). The meeting will take place at 4:30 PM in Room 101C of the Student Life Center (SLC). In the meantime, clubs should get their officers together to review official organization recognition procedures, their 2008-09 budget requests, and facility space requests. Much of this information is due during the first 2 weeks of fall classes! Sport Club Recruitment Night on Thursday, September 4th The Sport Club Council will be hosting its annual Sport Club Recruitment Night on Thursday, September 4th from 5:00 pm til 7:00 pm at the Leach Center. For incoming freshman, transfer students, or any other student, come out and meet representatives from each of our clubs and see how you can get involved. Fall Practice Schedule Requests Due August 28th During the first week of fall classes, the spring practice schedule will be in effect for Tully Gym. The Main Campus Fields will be open August 25-28 until 10:00 pm. Space will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. To request your club's fall practice spaces and times, visit the forms section for the space request form (at the very bottom) of the SCC Online Resource Center. Complete and turn-in to the Sport Club Office in 136 Tully Gym by Thursday, August 28th at 4:30 pm. The fall practice schedule will take effect on Tuesday, September 2nd. Sport Clubs Welcomes Its New Assistant Director The Sport Club Office is once again staffed with a full-time professional. Tommy Schorer, formerly a Graduate Assistant here at FSU, has taken over the Assistant Director of Sport Clubs role full-time. He's available weekdays between 9:00 and 5:00 in the Sport Club Office in 136 Tully Gym for all your sport club questions.
